
Course Description
This course will give any leader the tools needed to implement changes more smoothly and to have those changes better accepted by the organisation. This workshop will also give all participants an understanding of how change is implemented and some tools for managing their reactions to change.
Course Outcomes
By the end of this course, the Change Manager will be able to have a better command and understanding of their role leading the change in the organisation.
- List the steps necessary for preparing a change strategy and building support for the change
- Describe the WIFM – the individual motivators for change
- Use needed components to develop a change management and communications plans, and to list implementation strategies
- Employ strategies for gathering data, addressing concerns and issues, evaluating options and adapting a change direction
- Utilize methods for leading change project status meetings, celebrating a successful change implementation, and sharing the results and benefits
- Describe the four states of Appreciative Inquiry, its purposes, and sample uses in case studies
- Use strategies for aligning people with a change, appealing to emotions and facts
- Describe the importance of resiliency in the context of change, and employ strategies the change leader and individual change participant can use to foster resiliency
- Explain the importance of flexibility in the context of change, and demonstrate methods the change leader and individual change participant can use to promote flexibility
Course Setup
This course is an online, self-paced course on the OpenLearning Platform. Instructor responses and feedback will be provided via e-mail or messages within the platform. Google Meet or Zoom classrooms may be organised depending on the cohort. On average, the course needs around 4 weeks of part-time study (around 2-3 hours per day).
Assessments
In order to acquire this microcredential, you must satisfy all the assessment conditions for each of the provided lessons. These assessments may take a variety of forms including:
- Answering questions
- Submitting projects
- Commenting on other students’ work
- Making changes based on feedback
- Participating in online discussions
- Other relevant tasks
All students will be expected to satisfy all the requirements of this course in order to receive recognition for this microcredential.
